Funds raised will go to Ovarian Cancer Canada and Pancreatic Cancer Canada to help fund their efforts to support to those living with the disease, raise awareness about the disease and fund research to develop and improve early detection techniques, treatment, and ultimately a cure. These are great organizations who work tirelessly to help those affected by these terrible diseases. Pancreatic cancer has the highest mortality rate of all major cancers, and affects nearly 5000 Canadians each year. 17000 women in Canada are currently fighting ovarian cancer, and this number is growing by 2600 each year. Together we can help combat these diseases, and help to make sure those who are fighting for their lives receive all the support they can get.
Not a runner? Not to worry! Volunteers are always needed, and you can find more information, or sign up to help out at www.runforaway.com.
